Seminar on Mobile Phone Crimes in Cloud by Dr. Laurie Lau, Chairman of Asia Pacific Association of Technology and Society (APATAS).
The Seminar was held at the Mauritius Bar Association Seat. The different aspects of new forms of crimes using mobile phone technology was discussed at a very interesting seminar.
Seminar on The enforcement of ethical standards in the legal profession by Mr. James Guthrie QC, of 3 Hare Court, United Kingdom.
James Guthrie particularly specialises in a broad range of appellate work in the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. This includes constitutional, commercial, common law and criminal cases. He has also recently appeared by special permission in the Court of Appeal of Mauritius. He appeared before the Privy Council at its first sittings in the Bahamas, and when it sat for the first time in Mauritius. The Seminar gave an overview of how the enforcement of ethical standards work in the UK including the various issues referred to the Professional Standards Board.
